Out of the Temple of Tenebris and back on the Great Northern Road, the adventurers set off once more towards Marbordo to find a contact named Eyestosee and uncover the rumor of kidnapped Convalli. A day into their journey, Allen attempts to read the Temple Book and avoids its Mind Trap. Caelum, however, wrestle the book away from Allen does not. He falls into a comatose state. Alcia attempts to heal him, but a Priest is needed to undo the spell.
With Caelum slung over Allen’s shoulder, they eventually make it to the walled coastal city of Marbordo; one of Tasset’s major centres of commerce. Few weapons and armor are permitted within the city, but with the help of smugglers Binky and Blaine the adventurers get their gear across.
Once in the city, Alcia visits an antiques shop for directions to a Priest. The aging owner recommends the Temple of Bliss and sells her an intricate pocket watch.
Entering the Temple of Bliss, they come across Professor Andrews speaking with a Priest friend of his, Sollah. Caelum is healed and awakens while Andrews starts connecting dots regarding the Ancient Apocalypse Theory and the Dark Omen, Tenebris. Perhaps Tenebris is the harbinger that brough the apocalypse about. And maybe he’s at it again. Andrews needs time to research this while Sollah cleanses the Temple Book so that it may be read.
The adventurers go to the Tightrope Tavern and Alcia offers Allen her watch if he pays for the room. Oddly enough, he accepts the lopsided trade. She goes to the room alone where she meets the young Aranai Eyestosee who’s been watching them since they entered the city. He warns her that Convalli aren’t safe in Marbordo with an unknown gang looking for Exiles. A group of Convalli had been seen bumbling through earlier and were taken by them somewhere into the Slums district.
Meanwhile, Allen and Caelum meet with Binky and Blain to reclaim their gear. While Caelum was trying to conceal their weapons to the room, he bumps into an off-duty guard. They both watch as one of the illegal weapons falls to the ground between them.
