Our adventurers reach Cutthroat Crossing, a midway point in the Bay of Aur between the island nation of Camijaa and the mainland nation of Shaundor. They reunite with their crew aboard the Shore Thing who’ve finally deduced where upon Shaundor’s coastline the treasure map begins.
Before leaving, they learn from merchants that the island has history pertaining to Bramwell Nightwind and his ship, the Crimson Squid. Over 80 years ago, the island was the last place they’d docked before their ship sank on route to Camijaa. It was said that they brought with them a plague that killed many. The islanders called it the “Terror Plague” and buried the dead in a cemetery further inland.
The Shore Thing set sail for Shaundor. On route, during a thunderstorm, a ship intercepted and attacked them. It was the Pier Pressure, manned by ruthless Aranai and the Morgrin that all remember too well from their days in Slave Beach. While disconnecting anchor chains keeping the ships together, the Morgrin and his minions were defeated. A critically damaged Pier Pressure floundered away and out of sight.
Two days later, the Shore Thing arrived along the coastline of Shaundor. They were cautioned back at Cutthroat Crossing of the dangers that await them. But so, too, did the promise of treasure beyond their wildest dreams.
