Hostile Feral Pantherian tribes inhabit Shaundor, a land covered to the coastline in a thick jungle that is equally hostile. Unforgiving wildlife lurks around every corner, from giant caimans in the rivers, deadly snakes in the trees, and swarms of decease-carrying insects in the air.
Any attempt to communicate with the Shaundor natives is almost always met with violence. The Pantherian civilization is said to practice blood sacrifices and even cannibalism. Many a missing Pantherian from the neighbouring O’cemix nation is feared to have met such a fate.
Some of their city structures jut out of the forest canopy and can be seen for miles around. Archeological findings suggest their civilization was once much larger and covered most of the Insula Sea mainland, but has since declined to the Shaundor jungles. The few explorers who’ve returned and claimed to have witnessed these structures describe them adorned with precious metals and jewels, giving rise to the rumor that gold flows in abundance deep within the jungle.
Whether gold exists to any degree, there are also valuable plants and herbs that grow exclusively in Shaundor, including some used in the production of illicit substances. Much of the illegal drug trade in the Insula Sea has its origins here.
