In the Mayor’s Office of New Haven, old papers titled the “Ventus Manuscripts” exist.
These manuscripts describe events during a period of time well over 500 years ago, before the Convalli found and settled in the Valley.
There was a great war across all the land. A massive force came from across the Endless Ocean. It’s ranks were filled with terrifying monsters. Graags; short, goblin-like scavengers bent on causing destruction. The larger and deadlier Qarsh serving as leaders, fearless of pain or death. Some Graag were mounted upon great terrors known as Morgu; corrupted beasts the size of a grizzly with gnarly wolf-like features. And all under the command and sway of a great evil. A Dark Omen called Tenebris.
After a series of events the people unified against the evil force. It doesn’t say how but speaks of a Mighty Family. Great men and women allied with them and some became known as the Ventus, special fighters in the great battle which they called their Great Quest: to vanquish evil.
And, yet, even after successfully doing so, the Ventus believed it was not permanent; that the Dark Omen or another evil would return one day. The Ventus would stand watch across the lands as Defenders, remaining vigilant and ready for whenever evil tried to invade again. The Ventus would dedicate their lives to this Great Quest. They would carry on their calling to future generations before passing on, buried in tombs near where they were stationed.
