Our 3 adventurers – Alcia, Allen, and Caelum – journey west on the road leaving the coastal city of Marbordo, answering the call for help. Two days into their journey, they follow the sounds of mining to an excavation site headed by Professor Andrews. An ancient relic is discovered and, with the player’s help, re-assembled. Andrews believes it to be from a time before a cataclysmic event that encompassed all the Insula Sea in what’s known as the “Ancient Apocalypse Theory“. Mainstream academia dismisses this.
The following day, while traveling through a forest, the adventurers are nearly ambushed by bandits on the road. After defeating them (in unusual and gruesome ways) they find a letter on one sanctioning the accosting of Exiles, the head of Allen Barry, and to return to the Marbordo safe house by the month of Thundermere. The letter is signed by the authority of Lt. Bucky Star from the criminal organization known as the Black Cypress.
Carrying on from the Eastern Dales and into the fringes of the Wetlands, the adventurers finally reach New Haven and speak with Deputy Mayor Cedric Truemalt. He informs them of the growing resentment the Tasset government and its people are showing towards the exiled Convalli. Help is needed to gather resources, rebuild infrastructure, and defend themselves. While he’s explaining this, Alcia briefly hears indecipherable whispers coming from the Mayor’s Office. Putting that aside, they choose to speak with Lily Greenhand and help find mineral-rich water from within the Fire Hole Basin.
