You’ve all heard the story of Bal-Rathi the Explorer who over 700 years ago dedicated his life exploring all of Arcus. There’s more to that story…
Bal-Rathi had an ulterior motive to charting the known world: he was secretly trying to save it. He believed that the future held countless potential catastrophes for Arcus. Severe weather patterns. Plagues. A Dark Omen reawakening every thousand years.
Bal-Rathi believed that the answers to the problems of the future lied within the past. And so, within every Bal-Rathi Library that was gathering regional data a secret undercurrent of information was being acquired. Histories. Legends. Local folklore. Within these tales were the blueprints of how to prepare for the future.
Bal-Rathi realized there was no government in all of Arcus that this knowledge could be entrusted with. History continually repeated itself through those authorities. So, he created his own secret society with those that followed his mission and vision. Within the shadows, this organization has helped steer the course of events and prevented the repeat of past catastrophes.
They call themselves Bal-Rathi’s Compass: Keepers of the Legends of Arcus.
