The Lanistel Islands are a collection of distant islands at the mouth of the Insula Sea before the Endless Ocean. There’s no official government or race that rules these landmasses; their distance and lack of rare resources removes them from the politics or trading interests of other nations. Residents primarily consist of drifters seeking a simpler life upon beautiful islands with golden-sand beaches, green-topped mountains, and very few natural predators.
That’s not to say there are no dangers living on the Islands. They are the first to experience storms that roll in from the Endless Ocean. High waves hit the beaches year-round. Natives long ago developed the skill of “riding” these waves on boards of wood. Volcanic activity is also prevalent on many of the islands, sometimes sending rivers of molten rock across the land destroying everything in their path.
