The Dark Knight, freed of the helmet’s control, tries remembering who he was and warns Allen that Bucky Star and the Feme Fatalis must be stopped. He joins Caelum, who awakens on a remaining chunk of stairwell, and together they use a grapple and rope to reach the rest of the way to the top. They follow close behind Bucky on a zipline. Alcia catches up with them and together they chase Bucky Star across the city of Chefurbo.
Eventually, Bucky is cornered in a great library. As the adventurers approach him, however, Feme Fatalis assassins arrive, and a final fight ensues. In the end, the assassins are defeated, part of the library is on fire, and Bucky Star is burnt to a crisp. And yet, his corpse moves possessed as the Dark Omen Tenebris embodies him. He boasts that nothing they’ve done has had any consequence. Everyone in the room receives a vision of obelisks throughout the island and mainland nations of the Insula Sea feeding and strengthening Tenebris. If they are to defeat the Dark Omen, they must first destroy these obelisks.
John Kent leads the adventurers back to the Docks where they make several decisions. Alcia wishes her friends luck as she leaves aboard the Frappuccino for a different life. Allen and Caelum join the crew of Quinn Hadermick’s ship, the Endeavour. Before leaving, the Dark Knight makes an appearance, revealing that he was in fact Corrupted Blu, thought to have been dead. Alcia and the Frappuccino sail west along the Tasset coast. On the Endeavour, with a crew of fellow Convalli, Allen and Caelum sail off into the deep waters of the southern Insula Sea.
