The alligator is a large reptile located within the Tasset Wetlands. They’ve been known to grow to over 15 feet in length and weigh up to 1,000 lbs. Their eyes, ears, and nose are at the top of their head, allowing them to be excellent ambush predators with little of them above the surface of the water as they stealthily approach. Though slow on land, the alligator’s massive tail make them fast swimmers.
When they construct alligator holes in the Wetlands, they increase plant diversity in the area. Valuable plants like swamp milkweed, Labrador tea, and bog blueberries can be found in abundance nearby.
