Onryo are vengeful spirits, born from a person who died carrying overwhelming rage, sorrow, or betrayal. They are driven not by malice for its own sake, but by the unresolved injustice that binds them.
They cannot be killed, as they are already dead. But they may be put to rest. Their curse can linger, spreading beyond the original target, until the wrong that created them is acknowledged or purified.
